Context / Challenge
Following a series of sector-wide disruptions, the organisation was rethinking how it delivered professional learning and industry advocacy.
Members — ranging from emerging practitioners to senior experts — were navigating fast-changing expectations, regulatory shifts, and the growing impact of digital channels.
The Board recognised that its continuing professional development (CPD) program needed to evolve beyond traditional academic structures to better serve members and generate new revenue streams.
Intervention / Approach
Through a facilitated Agile Strategy Lab, the leadership team worked collaboratively to design a future-ready digital CPD strategy.
Key steps included:
Six pre-strategy CEO consultations to clarify strategic intent and environmental pressures.
Executive and member interviews to capture diverse perspectives and readiness for change.
Two half-day virtual strategy sessions followed by applied a series of six Agile Strategy Lab masterclasses.
Environmental scanning to identify legislative, commercial, and digital learning trends.
Establishment of an ongoing Digital Open Space Forum to maintain transparency, cohesion, and sector feedback.
Outcomes / Metrics
Full digital CPD curriculum designed and prepared for Board approval.
Strategy addressed capability development across the entire career spectrum — emerging to expert.
Created a clear framework for evidence-based decision-making using data and feedback loops.
Improved collaboration and cohesion among the executive leadership team.
